Kyler Murray Leads Late 4th Quarter Comeback to Tie Lions

With 6:06 left on the clock in the fourth quarter, Kyler Murray took the snap and dropped back to pass.  The Cardinals trailed 24-9 and needed a small miracle to pull off a victory. The Lions were favored to win the game at over 96% by ESPN when Murray lofted his first touchdown pass through the air as a pro.  

The 27 yard pass to David Johnson was the first of two touchdowns that Murray would throw on the day.  After a lackluster first three quarters, Murray began to find his legs. Larry Fitzgerald capped off regulation scoring.   Murray then completed the two point try with a short pass to Christian Kirk. Six minutes and eighteen points later, the Cardinals began overtime.  The Kyler Murray NFL experience has begun.

The Lions and Cardinals split field goals in the extra frame.  In the end, the Cardinals weren’t able to pull off a victory. With the way things were looking, a tie certainly felt like a win.

Kyler Murray was 29-54 through the air for 308 yards.  He had 2 Touchdowns and 1 Interception. His overall quarterback rating for the game was 75.2.  On the ground Murray rushed 3 times for 13 yards. He averaged 4.3 yards per carry.

Kyler Murray Week 2 Opponent

The Cardinals and Kyler Murray travel to Baltimore for their week 2 contest against the Ravens.  The game is part of the early slate this week if you’re living anywhere on the west coast in Cardinals territory.  

The Ravens are coming off of a big win.  They defeated the Miami Dolphins 59-10 in a historic week 1 blowout.  Kyler Murray and Lamar Jackson will square off for the first time. It promises to be a very entertaining football game.
